Preventing Violence, Breaking the Cycle
OPCC Devon & Cornwall Police partnered with Red Rocket to develop a comprehensive campaign aimed at preventing violence and breaking the cycle of crime. Our mission was to create a strong visual identity and a user-friendly online platform to promote the core values of this crucial initiative.
Understanding the Vision
Serious Violence Prevention is a vital initiative focused on reducing violence across Devon and Cornwall by tackling its root causes and promoting healthier, safer communities. With a mission to empower individuals and organisations through awareness, education, and strategic interventions, they needed a brand identity and digital presence that would amplify their impact.
The campaign needed to be aimed at a variety of audiences and the brand needed to focus on people younger than 25, but also organisations and communities. We had to ensure that all materials were accessible, user-friendly, and conveyed the campaign’s core values. This meant producing high-quality visual and digital content that highlighted the initiative’s importance and effectiveness.
Red Rocket was brought on board to create a compelling visual identity and website that reflected their mission and helped them reach and engage a wider audience. Our team worked closely with the Office of Devon & Cornwall Commissioners’ communications team to ensure their message was clear, powerful, and visually engaging across all platforms.

Building a strategy
The Serious Violence Prevention initiative operates in a complex and sensitive area, and it was crucial for their branding and website to balance professionalism with approachability. The challenge was to create a brand identity that conveyed authority and expertise while remaining accessible to all community members. Additionally, the website needed to effectively communicate their mission, provide resources, and engage with diverse stakeholders—from community organisations to individuals seeking help.
Outcomes
- Developed a cohesive and impactful brand identity
- Produced high-quality print collateral
- Launched a secure, accessible, and user-friendly website
The project resulted in a successful launch of the “Preventing Serious Violence” campaign, enhancing the initiative’s visibility and engagement. Through detailed planning and creative execution, we ensured that every aspect of the campaign reflected OPCC Devon & Cornwall Police’s mission and values.
The rebranding and website launch have significantly enhanced their ability to communicate and engage with communities. The new visual identity has helped establish them as a trusted resource, while the website has become a central hub for information and support.
Serious Violence Prevention now has a cohesive brand presence that reflects their dedication to preventing violence and fostering safer communities across Devon and Cornwall. The website’s functionality has made it easier for individuals to access the resources they need, and the supporting collateral has expanded their outreach efforts, making a meaningful impact throughout the region.
Through Red Rocket’s creative lens, the campaign’s visual identity and messaging were brought to life, effectively highlighting the importance of preventing serious violence and breaking the cycle of crime. By capturing the essence of each touchpoint, we showcased the unique elements that set this initiative apart.
Our materials emphasised innovative design elements and cohesive brand messaging, unifying all platforms from print materials to the new website. The campaign’s success was reflected in significant increases in engagement and awareness, demonstrating how effective branding and digital transformation can enhance community initiatives.
